I have a nokia 2730 classic that was first on vodafone, iv got a xt sim card in it and most of the phone works fine.

However when i try to change the default config settings it appears to be locked to vodafone! i can set a preferred setting but that only appears in the config settings, when i go to the wap browser or mms settings it only lets me choose default or VF NZ when im wanting telecom content that i put in before...

Does anyone know a way to fix this?  sorry for my bad explinations

The phone is a 900/2100UMTS device and will only have VERY limited service on which runs a majority 850 UMTS network. Ther is some 2100 UMTS in fill within major NZ cities but it's very limited.

I would suggest you either use it on Vodafone or 2 Degrees and look for a different handset for XT

It says on the nokia website that it works on...
?WCDMA 900/2100 and GSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/1900 and GSM 850/900/1800/1900

does it only do 900/2100 or 850/1900? and not switch between them?

There are two models, one will only do 850/2100 and the other 900/2100. You presumably have a model that does 900/2100 since it's VF branded and sold by Vodafone.

There are NO phones that do 850, 900 and 2100.

Don't bother wasting your time trying to use the handset on XT. If you want to use XT buy a phone that does 850/2100.
