With all the outages and the deals floating around I'm wondering if anyone has actually got fed up enough to leave? I hear a lot of people complaining but has anyone actually done anything about it yet?

Yes, yes they have.

we had to fly extra staff in to the South Island this week to cope with demand and the back office porting team is working through the weekend to keep up.

Cheers

I haven't and won't until vodafone actually deliver some good customer service. Their call centre in Egypt is a nightmare to deal with.

Soon... we will hear that vodafone network is under duress/congested/drop calls - ie will not be able to surf and download at reasonable speed

lol at the "congested" remark.

Sadly both call centres have their major issues, there is a very good reason why I'm on prepaid now. (and actually saving sh***oads of money whilst making more calls than ever!)

Sounds like you've seen the light and switched to 2D then Para?

They have a true-blue Kiwi call centre, none of this off-shore rubbish, and they also answered the phone very promptly on the few occasions I have needed to call them.  Added to that, their website provides a full listing of calls made and the cost for each call, which is a first for Prepay users in NZ.  Voda and Telecom only provide this level of service to their On Account customers, which is pretty shabby really.

I have the 2Degrees in my iPhone, I must say, I'm impressed overall, never had to call them once unlike the others.
Still operating the Telecom number and Vodafone numbers to lesser "degrees"

Never said telecom's was perfect, but in my experience they are better to deal with. Not even considering 2 degrees until they have 3G and data plans.

I would love to see some stats from any of the companies who would be prepared to put their money where their mouth is.
There is plenty of talk in either direction about the number of lost customers and how busy Vodafone have been down south bla bla bla. However all companies claim "commercial in confidence" in regards to porting details.
So why doesn't someone post the details about the number of ports in all directions (ie Telecom CDMA -> Voda/2Deg or Telecom XT -> Voda/2Deg or Voda -> 2Deg/Telecom CDMA or XT).

The numbers have only been "semi" reported once here: http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/business/2845199/Record-numbers-switch-mobile-carrier

I wish there was some transparency in the market about this, as I am sure the stats would make for interesting reading, but everyone seems pretty sensitive about it.

Otherwise either side is just posting noise.

Would never go to Vodafone when it costs me to call you , even if it is YOUR fault that I need to call you . Good customer service ... I dont think so .

Not really, rewarding loyalty for being on-account. Why do prepay users want the same level of service for nothing in return?

I have switched to Slingshot mainly because I have internets with them. They offered me a nice deal with free calls and txts just because Telecom ahve yet again, stuffed me around. At the remark about Vodafone network being congested, they always were and always will be the largest Mobile Network in the country. Telecom don't have anywhere near the figures Vodafone do.

If Telecom hadn't of tried to do WDCMA without proper knowledge of the network structure required for such high capacity workload maybe it wouldent of fallen over and gone down the pooper
