Telecom have just now confirmed another issue with the XT Network, this time effecting Smartphone devices due to some authentication error.

There is no current information on the number of customers effected.

I wouldn't can it an "outage" - you see, last week another mobile provider had a similar kind of problem affecting mobile data only and that word wasn't used - you see where I am going with this...

Back to the normal program.

I think both networks have been having "issues". I've been getting fairly intermittent, but almost daily "network busy" messages on Vodafone in the Wellington CBD for the last week and texts not received on Telecom yesterday, but seems okay today.

Hmmm, I wonder what the issue was, unusual for it to affect both issues? Anyone know?

Never ask what sort of computer a guy drives. If he's a Mac user, he'll tell you. If not, why embarrass him?

Shame. A little spin could have help. As obvious as it is where my loyalties lie, TCNZ going down the gurgler is not in anyones best interests. Plus I dont think their shares could take a another hit..

From what I hear we shouldn't see any XT outage of epic proportions again...

The best part is when Gen-i employees are the ones telling everyone porkies like 'Smartphone only.'

And I don't mean just saying out loud; I mean sending out in official emails to Dealers and Business Units on how to communicate the issue with their customers :\
