Can anyone suggest a SIM card to buy in China so I can avoid XT roaming charges?

Its so I can use data and SMS on a 3Gs Iphone for about a week.

If you're wanting 3G WCDMA then IIRC China Unicom will be the one to go for. 

China Unicom offers 3G WCDMA on the 2100MHz band (??)
China Telecom offers 3G EVDO CDMA
China Mobile offers 3G TD-SCDMA (home grown China 3G standard).

China Unicom and Mobile offer GSM services also.

If you want to use another carriers SIM this is not roaming
