Hi guys

I'm looking to upgrade my precision m6400 with a Dell / Ericsson 5540 mobile broadband card.

Specifically this one!
http://cgi.ebay.com/Ericsson-F3607G-Dell-5540-Wireless-3G-HSPD-Fr-E6400-/290435343009?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item439f4ba2a1

I'm pretty sure I can install that card (the aerial cables are all there) put a Telecom XT SIM in and be away laughing.

It supports 850 /2100 WCDMA, is there anything else that might trip me up?

Thanks, hopefully this is a easy one to answer

Might be SIM-locked.

Some of these Dell mini cards only work on Dell laptops, and some Dell laptops only work with specific cards... Ask ScottPalmer, he got one of those things before.

I got the 5520 and put it in my XPS M1330 and it worked with no issues but prior to that I had tried other modules which Dell had locked out in the BIOS.

If this module has been supplied by Dell for your particular machine then you should be OK, provided it isn't SIM locked as above.
