Heya:

Some mates are having difficulties with txting Facebook, basically the txt's ain't coming through coded propoarly. I have no idea if this is due to Telecom's Messaging Centre or Facebook just being silly, but take a look at the screenshot below and decide:

Note, I am not a Telecom Customer. My Girlfriend has a XT Phone and is having these problems, but it appears it's quite a few others on top of it.

Can you tell me what shortcode she's sending the text messages to?

I've just tried on my own account and it appears to be coming through fine. If you're using just normal text can you private message me the number and what handset she's using?

Ok if it happens again make sure you note down the time and contact 123 to log a fault. This should definitely not be happening :)

Any problems or issues let me know.

Problem is, by the time they realize it's happened, the problem has magically "Fixed" itself when they see it from their PC. It's not just happening with 1 or 2 people, it seems to be happening with almost everyone on Facebook when they flick a status update txt to it or reply to a comment.

Not many people know about 0.facebook.com either, but then again - Replying to a txt vs opening up your mobiles wap browser --> Navigating to the page, take your pick?

I'm posting it here since it has been happening not just the last week or so, it's been happening for the last 3 or so months off and on, basically it decides when it want's to work and goes from there.

I haven't been having any issues with my Vodafone Phone which almost makes me believe it has something to do with the Telecom Messaging Centre, maybe becoming overloaded?

Using strange characters at all? I have had that sort of stuff come to my phone when someone I know sends something with a chinese character in it.

The same thing happens to me on XT if the message is too long and it is split into two so it can be sent to Facebook.  I have long since learnt that I need to keep mobile facebook postings to one message lengh only. Maybe there is a problem here that needs addressing?

Can it be confirmed that texting FACE counts as a standard txt message( and so against your text plan) rather than a premium 20c/50c etc text?

on CDMA btw.

My count on the IVR goes down, but since I never get to 50 sent I dont know if it stops charging the 20c per text or not.
