Can anyone tell me where I can buy the Nokia E72 which can be used on XT, all the versions I have found at a good price (about $600) are not the right band.

If anyone can tell me where I can buy it, it would be much appreciated. A link would be great! I do know you can get it from Telecom, but that is very pricey!

Phones Direct have it for XT, $734 though! Seems to have had a price hike, last time I checked at their website it was ~$670. Possibly cheaper to get it yourself from overseas?

Unfortunately I've not ever seen it available for XT at a price comparable to the Vodafone compatible E72.

What would be a good site to get it in Australia?

I'm also looking for E72 XT phone.

It would be a good idea to look for the E72-3 model as that has 850/2100 WCDMA???? Or do all E72's have 2100WCDMA?

XT has 850MHz UMTS all over the country, with 2100MHz in the city centers to increase capacity.

Ideally the E72-3, but you could use an E72-2 if for some reason you can't get a E72-3.

I do know you can use the E72-2 on the 2100 on XT, but that would be kinda pointless if you can only use your phone in main centres.

So is there anywhere to buy the E72-3 in New Zealand apart from phonesdirect? As they are $150 more than E72-2 version is elsewhere.

According to the nokia website the E72-2 is WCDMA 850/1900 so should work fine on XT.  The E72-3 is WCDMA 850/2100 would probably be preferable though, if only to give the option of switching to Vodafone and getting the equivalent 3G coverage to iphone users.

You may be referring to the E72-1 which is WCDMA 900/2100 and therefore not really suitable for XT

Yes, sorry I was talking about the E72-1, as this is the one that is most widely available to buy. I am trying to find the E72-2 or E72-3 at a reasonable price, but cant find anywhere

In end I bought the Nokia E72-2 from Phone Traders. I paid $734 for it, but they included about $100 worth of accessories with it.

I was very impressed with their service and would recommend the store to anyone! The phone was shipped to me from Hong Kong in only 4 days, that is incredible service!!!

Thanks to everyone for their help, it was much appreciated
