I'm on telecom broadband. Load YouTube and some thumbnails load straight away and some take 20 seconds to load. i2.ytimg.com seems to be what is still loading. Anyone else having these problems?

Yer im getting the same problems, the youtube site is always EXTREMELY slow for me, vids most the time load fast enough to properly stream, even though my line is more than capable to do so, 1mb/s download speed. 3/10 videos i probably have to wait a minute or two to load before i can watch, telecom doesn't seem to be very good with youtube

What DNS are you folks using? The Xtra DNS or third party?

Xtra dns, which seems to be extremely slow, dont really know how to change it, if its possible. Do i change it in the modem or in my computers network settings?

are you on bigtime?
I found youtube to be very painful on bigtime - much as you describe -  but as soon as a switched to a different plan the difference was night and day.  I haven't had to wait for a youtube vid to buffer even once since then.

The 10gb plan, telecom is screwing me around atm, capping my upload, speed getting slower and slower, fs/fs my a** haha. Apparently they can't find anything wrong. Hopefully it will get sorted out, look forward to when I can load a YouTube video 5x faster than it plays again! Haha

Anbo i would be interested to here what you think 'extremely slow' is.
If you could PM me the details of the DNS servers you are using and some examples of slow responses i can look into it and see if there is an issue we are not aware of.

I have noticed this too. It is not consistant, but a lot of sites that load slowly, are usually due to x.ytimg.com. This is based solely on observation, and watching the status bar in Firefox. At worst, it can add 10seconds to a pages load time.
