Hi,

Yesterday I asked Telecom to move me from postpaid to prepaid and I was told that it should take effect today. About an hour ago, my phone popped up with "SIM not provisioned" and is now sitting on "emergency calls only". Is that normal for a switch to prepaid or has something gone wrong? How long should the switchover take?

Thanks :)

i have seen that before, remember to "crash"(remove battery etc) your phone in about an hours time and check whether your phone is back with service

as with everything else its a standard 4 hour transaction time, that however seems to be more of a vague guideline then a steadfast rule

Not for a few minutes. I've turned it off a couple of times but have been turning it on again immediately. I've just taken the battery out and will leave it for a while and see what happens.

I knew that it would take a while to happen but the guy in the shop implied that it would just switch to prepaid almost without warning. So I was wondering whether this "unprovisioned" message was normal or not.

as far as im aware the phone does get disconnected temporarily during the transfer so yes that would be a normal message

I find putting it in a jug of beer, or running over it with a car also helps to "crash" the phone Innocent

Well, apparently Telecom activated the wrong SIM. I got a V2 upgrade a couple of months ago, and just to see what would happen I put the old V1 SIM back in. It came up straight away and T-World is listing my correct number on a prepaid connection. I'll pop back into the shop tomorrow and let them know what happened, and potentially "re-upgrade" my SIM.
