Hi guys, I have a 3g phone from China that I am using on the XT network, everything works (calls, sms, internet) except for MMS.

I have used the settings from freitasm, but it just sits there trying to connect and times out.

Here is what I have for internet settings which do work.
Data profile: XT Data
APN:Internet.telecom.co.nz
IP:000.000.000.000
DNS:000.000.000.000
Security:none

Settings:
Protocol:wap
proxy:blank
proxy port: blank
login/password;blank
home URL:http://pdaportal.telecom.co.nz

Here are the options I have for MMS which doesn;t work (sending and receiving), (this is all the options there are no others) what should i set here?

Data profile: XT MMS
APN:wap.telecom.co.nz
IP:000.000.000.000
DNS:000.000.000.000
Security:none

Settings:
Type:WAP
security:off
proxy:000.000.000.000
proxy port:0
login/password: blank
relay server URL:http://LSMMSC.XTRA.CO.NZ
secure relay:off

I have tried with and with the proxy address and it doesn't work, is it weird I don';t have the option for MMS homepage?

You need to change your MMS settings to:

Data profile: XT MMS
APN:wap.telecom.co.nz
IP:000.000.000.000
DNS:000.000.000.000
Security:none

Settings:
Type:WAP
security:off
proxy:210.55.11.73
proxy port:80
login/password: blank
relay server URL:http://lsmmsc.xtra.co.nz
secure relay:off

Thats it.. should work. Try sending an MMS to yourself to see if it works.

thanks for the help ACS, I used those settings, but still doesn't work when sending to myself or another number, i tried 8080 as the port number also without any success. If I remove some of the settings, and try and send it fails straight away, ie the little green icon turns into a red cross immediately, if I have all the settings that appear to be correct it will stay green for 30-60- seconds, the data transmitting icon will display aswell but then eventually it turns red.

I checked and there is still $9 credit on it.. I wish there was some kind of debug or log I could see!

if its a symbian based clone then you will have to "activate" MMS settings for them to take affect.

Locate and look at these settings menu within a) your MMS or messaging application and also b) the main screen.

Are you able to provide the make/model of the phone (should be under the battery)?

Why do people bother with these devices and they wonder why they have issues

Good luck.  You may want to try a voda SIM and settings just to verify that the handset definitely supports MMS.  You can't really expect the same functionality you would from one of the major brands
