When I first switched to XT Last year, I always had excellent coverage, It was always full coverage when I was at home.

For the last few weeks, the coverage has been degraded with the phone either sitting at little to no coverage (1 or 2 bars) or it will cycle between full coverage and no coverage in a matter of seconds cycling like that constantly for the night.
This is causing data sessions not to start among other problems

Ive confirmed this is not a phone issue as a friend's phone also has this problem down the street

Has anyone else noticed this anywhere?
Or is there a good number to call and report this where they will understand what Iam saying?

I'm living in St Kilda, Dunedin

0800 400909 option 3 for Mobile Faults would be a good starting point.

Telecom were apparently doing upgrades in Dunedin/Southland yesterday (I saw it on the alerts page of their web site)

We were experiencing dropped calls and poor coverage around Ashburton yesterday. No problem noticed today.

There may be planned work occurring in your area, I would call 123 or the number above to confirm. Otherwise 123 will be able to help raise a coverage case for you.

Let us know how you get on.

I had been keeping an eye on the alerts pages to see if anything was being done in my area as I know they have been doing upgrades all over the place

Called Telecom today, Its been escalated to tier 3 support for them to look at into it
They said that I was experiencing Higher Drop rates than I should be getting in this coverage area which should be excellent

Just looking at my phone now, in 20 seconds its gone from 5 bars, to 1 then 2 and back to 4

Fluctuating signal levels can be a classic sign of cell breathing which is something unique to networks using a CDMA air interface.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.
