In Auckland, not that it should make a difference.

Working ok here...
Is this webmail, or with an email client?

both, xtramail.co.nz and with windows live mail, on the phone to them now, there does appear to be an issue, strange that its not affecting everyone though.

Could be their new caching server farm if it is affecting the webbased clients, as Yahoos mail would be international traffic.

One of my clients started having problems yesterday.
Today I was on site doing some checking and found nothing wrong with their systems.
The problem is that Outlook keeps asking for the username & password for pop3.xtra.co.nz even though it is all correct.
Spoke to Telecom and they removed the username & password from their cache and then it started working again, for about 10-15 mins then the problem came back.
After talking on the phone to Telecom for over an hour they couldn't fix it again and were going to go away and look at the problem and get back to me.
Never heard from them but if you are having problems too then it is obviously more widespread than they first thought.

So it could be a caching issue?

I doubt that it would be related to the cache farm for mail clients. These would be operating on ports 465 and 995 (if they are set for SSL) and not 80 which is what should be cached.

I haven't experienced any issues and I was definitely going through the cache farm earlier.

, interesting as I still can't access from winlive mail but I'm back into webmail via xtramail.co.nz, it boots me out everytime I click on a url and requests a passwprd every 5 minutes or so.

Hm. A while back I all of a sudden could no longer pop to my email client using pop3.xtra.co.nz
I changed it to plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com as per their help section and it worked again.

Not saying this is the problem here though, just remembered that was my issue

I'm in Hamilton as well.  We've been having problems both not receiving e-mails and e-mails not being sent.  Its been happening on and off for approx. 6 weeks.  In a bulk e-mail only a few of the recipients received the e-mail I sent.  Doesn't seem to be anything on the Xtra web site regarding service issues.
