In the last day or so I've read of Telstra about to announce speeds of 100mb, of Slingshot about to clarify their own All You Can Eat plan, and read also on TV3's pages that other ISPs are coming to market with new plans.

This may not be the best of times to be pissing people off, 'cause pissed off they will indeed be when parents find themselves on dialup speed or find themselves in receipt of truly $horrendous$ bills.
Methinks the media is gonna have a field day.

Telstra as in TelstraClear? If so you will probably find out 100Mbps would only be available on their cable network (Wellington, Christchurch) and most likely not available for months. They announced 25Mpbs service on cable last year and took me a week to get my 10Mbps connection upgraded, because their call centre didn't even know for sure it was available in Wellington.

Slingshot "All You Can Eat"? Many ISPs already tried unlimited plans, and they failed miserably. I am sorry, but I don't think Slingshot will do better than others.

I think you are being over optimistic there.

Yes, it's only on the cable network. It's supposed to be launching in September but we know what TCL is like with deadlines...
