I have owned a Telecom MF636 T-Stick for a month, and I have had good results in various parts of the North Island using email and casual browsing. However, during the last 2 days, when watching video from YouTube, the video runs ok for a minute or so, and then stops.

To make sure that the problem is not with my computer setup, I switched over to Telstra Clear Cable Broadband and was able to watch YouTube videos continuously without any problems using the same computer.

Can anyone tell me please, whether watching video using T-Sticks is often problematic, or could it be that the XT network is simply overloaded from time to time and not suitable for downloading video?

Is there anything that can be done to improve the performance of the T-Stick when watching YouTube videos?

Thanks very much for your help.

Regards
Fred

Wireless and Mobile inherently have more variable performance than a fixed line service like cable or ADSL because of things like signal loss, interference... variable number of customers using the mobile tower you are connected to etc etc.

What does http://www.youtube.com/my_speed show for you?

Thanks for your reply. The above web site stated that: "We did not find any video playbacks from your location."

I played the "live test video" and this showed on the top left of the screen this information:

10 stage fps, 31 video fps, 143 dropped, and the kbps varied continuously from about 380 to 500 and sometimes got up to 700.
