I notice in the specs on the Nokia website the Nokia 2730 which is sold in New Zealand by Vodafone & Telstra Clear can be operated on the 850mhz UMTS network.... BUt the Vodafone website leaves out the 850mhz UMTS from it's specs...   Will these phones work on Telecom XT, or can they be "set" to?

Not unless it's the US AT&T Version

The one sold through Vodafone is 900/2100 only

As per above the Vodafone/Telstra sold 2730 is not made to run on the XT network.

Buy the XT variant to use on XT
