Hi

Looking for a 3g Wireless router/AP that I can take with me on the train with my Telecom prepay sim in it.

I've heard of the Huawei e5838 - which has the necessary frequencies, and assume there might be some others.

Anyone know of others, and where I can get one from?  Devices for the vodafone network seem pretty commonplace but not xt.

"The MyZone is designed for a mini-SIM card and not a micro-SIM card."  A what?

So is this a micro sim, or a different shape?

i couldn't find a price and/or shipping details - have you?

What sort of cellphone do you have?

I have a Nokia E71 and use Joikuspot to do exactly what you're after. Works fine, though after a decent amount of use, the phone does start to warm up and I amagine that a couple of hours would ding the battery life pretty hard.

I have an iphone, but I'm wanting to effectively use a second XT sim (I'm on vodafone) for data only.

I have a Netcomm N3G002W which works a treat with a USB and PCMCIA datacard.

E-Mail me and we could do a deal, if you want to borrow it from me ;)

What about one of these?

Looks like you can only connect a 3G USB dongle and not insert a sim directly though.

FYI: Mini SIM what we are accustomed to right now, microSim is what iPhone 4 and iPad are using.

I still prefer a pocket size MiFi rather than a AC powered 3G router.

I found out Telecom New Zealand will be bringing a Netcom 3G WiFi router, mains powered.

The company who is bringing the BnadLuxe will bring the battery operated versions though, and I was told they will send one here sometime soon.

So Netcomm one is not battery powered? Not lucky for me. I need a pocket sized one. Bandluxe is too big to be pocketable
