Just curious, i currently have a version 1 sim card im my iphone 4 that was cut by a telecom salesperson, do i have to buy a whole a new sim card to get voice mail working, or is it a free upgrade?

I'm pre-paid. Telecom didn't charge me to go from a V1 to a V3 sim, but they did charge me ~$19 when I went from V3 to Micro-Sim.

Im assuming they will try and charge you for a new sim considering you cut your sim.

Your probably better off just buying a XT microsim

hmm, might have to ask them. The sales guy cut it for me because they didnt have stock at the time.

Talk nicely to your Telecom dealer and they should do it for free, certainly a TRS store will, Orb and LE will if you purchased directly from them.

A friend got a free microSIM transferring from a v1 SIM. I got a free v3 miniSIM transferring from v1. I'd say if they try to charge tell them it should be free.

I got a free microsim to replace a v1 sim, and I'm on prepay... Although the guy in the Telecom store did tell me he 'should' be charging me.

As per Telecom Business Rules:

You get a free Micro sim if you are setting up a new connection on account regardless of contract term

If you wish to change your standard sim to a Micro sim (regardless of version) you should be paying $19.95.

If you have a Telecom XT V1 sim and want to change to a V3 standard sim (regardless of Prepaid or Postpaid) you can do this free of charge.

If you want a new prepaid number on a Micro sim it is $29.95 as it includes $10 of topup

I think the big thing he was trying to get here is that he has cut the V1 sim, will they still do a swap to a v3?
