So currently, I am with the 20gb telecom broadband plan, and for the past few months, my family has ALWAYS exceeded the limit (like 80gbs per month) due to the fact that it DOES NOT slow down to dial up.
Now, I'm not complaining, but I am worried.
Its been only 1 week since it renewed this month, and we've already used 15gbs. I don't know if it's going to go slow or not but I am tempted to download lots of things to test this.

My but question is, does ANYONE know why it does not slow down, and/or does it happen to anyone else?
By the way, I've read somewhere in these forums that they had TiVo and theirs did not slow, but we do not have TiVo.

You might be getting charged for $2/GB or something similar. you should check your phone bill just in case.

You can be certain, that said fault will probably be fixed now. Telecom follow these forums closely, just waiting for someone like yourself to mention that they hate getting better service than they pay for ;)

Nah, its the adventure lite plan, should slow to dial up.
@person that said telecom looks at these forums frequently: Damn. I was just really curious on why this was happening, LOL damn you telecom don't read this!

I wouldnt worry - there have been plenty of issues with telecom's bw monitors that have multiple page threads documenting them that havent been fixed or took months to fix e.g. unlimited usage for Tivo customers

What's a BW monitor? Oh, and would you expect my speed to slow to dial up since its been like this for around 4 months.
@ the guy above, I don't pay the bills soo....yeah! :D

EDIT: Could you link me to the thread about the issues about the bw monitors?

bw = bandwidth monitor

After your billing cycle is over i seriously doubt they would slow you down.

For many years if I go over my allowance and get slowed down they will bring me back to fullspeed for the last day of the billing cycle ie unlimited net one day a month lol. Makes a big difference on a 3gig plan!

Yeah, they do that to me too, I think it was intentional, if not, then wow, they should've heard of this ages ago.

Why don't you just switch to a plan with a bigger cap?
