I have a telecom broadband connection, but if my broadband connection is not working, could I use telecom dialup and is it free? There is nothing that I could find on telecom's website about this.

I haven't had dialup for years but what is the easiest way to connect? Do I just setup a dialup connection and then connect first or do I somehow get it to start dialing automatically straight after I open Internet explorer? How did you guys used to connect to dialup back in the day?

It's $2.50/hour (unsure of any GST impact if any).

The Broadband Help Desk may be able to give you XYZ hours for zero cost if your Broadband connection is down, just ask them.

Could I have a different dial up isp other than telecom if my homeline is with telecom? If I wanted to use kol or slingshot dialup with my telecom broadband, could I do that?

I'm pretty sure you can. I remember my mate from primary school was on Telecom and he had paradise for his Dial-Up. It should still be that way because your just dialing a phone number

Yes, you can dialup to any provider, it's just the same as making a phone call..... doesn't matter who you are with with phone or internet.

IIRC no, just use your Xtra user name and password, it will be billed to your account.

c71931f: Slingshot has unlimited dial up free with broadband... ;D

They  need it, as when I was with them, there were quite a few outages, so reguarly needed the dial up to use as a backup.

Xnet also provides free dial up, to be used when broadband is down. However I think you have to be disconnected from broadband to use it.
