called in today to get my double Txt, Minutes and Data - was gonna move from Voda to a new XT plan,
but when i got to the shop was told the offer i thought id read online that said they give double data was only valid for the T Stick plans... not the mobile - so XT still only doing 240 meg plans for $18 :(

not sure what to do now, was gonna switch to XT for the better coverage but voda is cheaper and is giving me 3 gigs of data free... if only voda coverage was as good :(

Can anyone post a link for the smartphone extras on the Telecom website - I can only see the data and text extras.

so after a bit of back and forth and speaking to a few different people who all seemed to be confused...
finally got it sorted.

despite what it says on the website - it does actually apply to open contract too - not just 24 month.

so i have just signed up to:

One Rate 50 with The smartphone option. (on open plan).

So for about $59/month i got:

Open plan
100 anytime minutes to any network (doubled from 50)
5000 Txts/month to any network
480 megs data / month

not too shabby!

Sam

shadybrothers: http://store.telecom.co.nz/mobile/special-offers/xmas-double-the-joy

But that doesn't tell you what the smartphone extras actually are, how much they cost or how to add them.

The smartphone extra special sign up for 1G ran out today, so I guess it's been scrubbed from the lineup. I'm on it, it's $24 for the data and $14 for 2500 texts.

I too could not find the smartphone add ons apart from under business plans. But just used live chat on there web site to find out it is available. So I have changed from talk and text 300 to one rate 50 plus the 500mb smartphone addon with 2500 texts (which is doubled for the next 12 months)

I have asked our marketing guys to look at clarifying the specifics of these plans to the various sales channels.

I rang up about this as well and was told to diall *333 and change it there. It would also tell me if I was entitled to doubling my text and data for free. Seems I am not....

Very odd promotion.

Sorry to ask, but what plan are you after putting on your phone? And what plan do you have now?

The promo is as I read

TXT Plans
If you only want a TXT Plan then add either Text Anyone 2500 double or TXT150 double.

Text Anyone 2500 double. (5000 txt) for $12.
TXT150 double (300 txt) for $6

This can all be done in *333 unless upgrading from an existing Smartphone Plan.

Smartphone Plans,
Bundle together Text Anyone 2500 double and either Mobile Broadband (MBB) 240MB double or MBB 500MB Double and SAVE!

This cannot be done in *333.
