I have just updated my HTC Desire which operates on the XT network to Froyo and now the mobile internet won't work.

Have been into Telecom shop but young guy there didn't seem to know how to fix it.  Put the APN settings in again and restarted phone but still won't work.

Anyone else get this problem after the update and any suggestions to fix it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Aha. Ive heard of similar issues.

Sometimes the firmware update can end up setting an incorrect band setting (eg. 900mhz instead of 850).

There's a hidden menu that you can fix this from.
In the phone dialler dial *#*#4636#*#*

This will launch the hidden menu.  Go to 'Phone Information', then press the android menu/settings button. This will give you a popup option (one of many) to change the radio band. Try 'AUS2' and if that doesnt work, try some of the others.

I recommend selecting the right option, and once it takes - reboot the phone.

Strange. Maybe the secret code is different on the desire. Try google. This code has worked for me on the 4-5 devices I've seen so far.

That's odd, I've got the menu.

Mine did the same after the 2.2 update, I just reloaded the APN's and it worked fine after restarting.
