AS above, we are getting 2megabytes/sec downloads in the last few weeks, (in the past averages about 1.1megabytes/sec) and checking speedtest.net we get the likes of this

Whereas before it was only about 8Mb/s

Not complaining mind you, but our 10gb package will no doubt be used up quicker!

You have no doubt been migrated over to a new cabinet. Depending on exactly how far you are from the cabinet you could find that if you are currently using plug in DSL filters that your speeds would still increase further if you have a master ADSL filter installed.

I believe Telecom defragged the internet over the weekend. Probably why it is going faster for you.

It says I am in a a junction of the VDSL2 and 10MBPS area - no change there.
There have been a couple of Chorus vans playing with a cabinet all last week about 4kms away on may way to work, but haven't seen any activity at the one across the road.

It should tell you the date that your cabinet will be upgraded and the date of the home exchange.

So the exchange has been upgraded for sometime, does it put your house on the exchange or cabinet, the exchange may have been in 2008 and a cabinet added recently, or it ounds to me like something in you house wiring changed, someone moved or plugged or unplugged a device and it changed things, this includes phones, cordless or not, fax manhines, alarm systems, Sky boxs.

My address is manatu place, witherlea if you want to check, seeing you know more about it than me. Was the cabinet done in 2008.
Nothing else has changed in the house. No phones, nothing. Oh, I did tweak the LNB to pick up SBS! (don't have sky)

I'll stick with the defragged suggestion then... lol

Hi, it implies your on a cabinet thats already commissioned, the fact that it indicates that you are within the VDSL2 area also implies you are quite close to that cabinet so your ADSL2+ speeds should be much better than what you are getting, so maybe something in your house wiring is a miss. Typically if you are within the VDSL2 service area then you should be getting close to ADSL2+ maximum speed, like 16-19Mb/s

The cabinet is outside our neighbours house, so yes, quite close to a cabinet ;)
I was asking what had been done for the improvement for our BB, as before we were averaging about 8Mbps, now it's over 12Mbps. I was not suggesting anything was amiss or the service had dropped - we received a 50% improvement.
But now you've made me question why it's not faster. Damn you Cyril!

Ahhhh, pass. No idea. It's also one of the free thompson 585v7's they were giving away.
But I'm thinking of switch to a naked plan like from Snap and a VOIP setup to save myself about $40/month, so router mar change shortly! (Paying $119/month for homeline and 10gb at the moment.)

They may have had you on the wrong profile as part of earlier troubleshooting. I got stuck on adsl 1 once when some idiot at an ISP put the request thru to deal with my poor international speeds, almost halved my already pathetic sync rate.
