Hi, I am looking at getting a new phone sence mine is very old and freezes. I have decided to go wtih the HTC Desire. Now I don't txt much and much is about 5 txt per month or less lol. but im always of MSN and Facebook so I was thinking of getting a Data only plan. Here are some plans ive looked up tell me what you think. oh and i hop this is the closest Thread it should be in.

Telecom:
$12 for 150 txt and 50mb data
$12 for 120mb
don't forget a $20 topup gives you $24 credit

Vodafone
$6 50mb with Free Facebook usage
$10 100mb with Free Facebook usage
Facebook info: http://www.vodafone.co.nz/specials-promos/nonstop/

2 Degrees
$6 for 50mb

Any suggestions on the amount of usage I would get just chatting to people on Facebook and Msn on these plans?

Remember that these Vodafone specials for Twitter and Facebook are only for these services' websites. Most mobile phones do not have browsers capable of using the chat functionality on Facebook (heavy script).

The "free Facebook" is really for updating your status, checking other people's status, etc. Not really for chat on a mobile device.

I recommend the mobile data 500mb plan on xt prepay
Then you only pay 10cents a mb for what you use

Don't forget to get the right version of the Desire for whichever network you go onto.
(Desire A8182 for XT, Desire A8181 for vodafone)

Yea, i was just talknig to me friend I found out he has a HTC Desire. He also uses data only and he said if you use a IM client like the one he uses, he said you never go through 100mb until you start surfing the web and using google maps which i don't plan on doing unless i have wifi. And thanks I forgot to check what model is it and its a Vodafone model. oh this part is just random, ive been using ubuntu 10.10 for a desktop os now for about 1 month because i only use Linux for servers but im finding it really good, i just pluged in my iPod touch and it started syncing. I Freaked out I though it better no t erasing it lol but I have to say Ubuntu just works so well
