A friend of mine has a Sanyo SCP-7400 phone, about 5 years old, and is upgrading to a new phone.  She wants to get her contacts and her pics out of the phone and of course it's a non SIM model.

Any ideas?

Is it an option to email the pictures?

A Telecom dealer should be able to copy the contacts for you.

Thanks graemeh. With the pics there are two types: 'photos in camera' which we can email and 'pictures in phone' which we can't.

Yeah, my wife had this problem with her Sanyo phone. We couldn't find a way to get the "pictures in phone" out and neither could the shop.

Hopefully someone here will know a way.

you can normally upload pictures to the online gallery on the older handset, and then download them via the pc(which is free) however that would require a new prepaid number and some credit to enable the wap access

this is where a signature goes

Is there a basic file manager on the phone to transfer the 'pictures in phone' to 'photos in camera' to then email?
Have you tried pugging in a usb cable to see what happens? according to these specs the phone has usb connectivity:

The drivers should be available from the web if you don't have them already..
