In wainuiomata at the moment, no signal at all
have done the basics of doing a power cycle, network search only finds 2degrees and vodafone

I've just had a look at the Telecom service status page:

and even that is down - something strange is happening :S

and it was running from the cops!

I was talking to a truck driver from wainui the other day and he said he told me he had his trailer tail lights pinched in auckland last week... he said "If it was in wainui, I wouldn't have a truck... we were taught to do things right over there"

It came back to life around 1am, guessing that small quake last night may of wiggled loose the power plug for it :)

No... More likely just a firmware upgrade on the cellsite.  It happened to me too last week.. My signal went from 100% to 20% from midnight (local site shutdown, onto one further away) and came back to 100% around 1:15.  All outages occur post midnight, so really you need to live in a more populated area with a few more sites.  Check out my blog below to see where they are near you.  Probably only have one servicing you.

yeah I think wainui only has the 1 Telecom cdma/xt cell serving it, I know of two 2degrees towers and vodafone has a few
