Hi a recent problem has developed on my Thomson ADSL gateway.

Overnight it disconnects from the internet - requiring me to hit the connect button on it to get it going again.

Nothing seems to jump out at me in the logs.

Any ideas to why?

Secondly is there any way to force it to reconnect, or is there an http post command I can issue to reconnect?

I have a very similar issue. Mine will just randomly disconnects. Can you tell if your modem is rebooting over night?

Still working unsuccessfully with telecoms support team to investigate my issue.

I had this modem - it would constantly reboot, sometimes losing my settings.

Telecom replaced it 3 times, and at the end said that it was possibly a dodgy ethernet port on my home lan.

I went and bought a new 2wire modem, and it has worked flawlessly for months now. It never requires reboots, and never resets.

So, I have now returned the thomson to telecom for the last time.

Just google thomson in the geekzone forums.

I don't think mine is rebooting. But I jiggled around with the cables last night (that's a technical term btw) and also came up with a bash script to connect via telnet and restate the internet connection.

It was up this morning, I haven't yet checked if it was the script that did this.
