As abvove, no reason why it shouldn't work.

Key information is 3G HSDPA 850 / 2100 to work with XT. XT doesn't use 2G

Edit: 2100 is only in major cities. 850 is nationwide

I wasnt able to open the link, but most phones in the states are locked to the networks they came from so you should check its unlocked before you buy it unless you know its easy to unlock

I would just urge a little more research maybe.  Whilst some reviews etc seem to suggest quad band for 3G (as well as GSM), if you look at the Moto USA site itself:
http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US-EN/Consumer-Product-and-Services/Mobile-Phones/ci.Motorola-BACKFLIP-with-MOTOBLUR-US-EN.alt
It says in the tech specs that it supports WCDMA in three bands only - see below - extract from website

MULTIPLE NETWORKS
WCDMA 850/1900/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps (category 7/8), EDGE Class 12, GPRS Class 12, aGPS, v2.0

Having said that, the three bands are 850, 1900, 2100 so that is good news for XT in any event.  But beware if you wanted to switch to Voda, 2d etc as it is not best suited (i.e. no 900 extended coverage)

quite often phones will be available in two variants
one will be WCDMA 850/xxxx/xxxx the other will be WCDMA 900/xxxx/xxxx (where the xs are 1700/1900/2100

but sometimes the tech specs on a generic website will say WCDMA 850/900/xxxx/xxxx, implyinmg it is quad band, but the phone will actually only be one or the other, not both, depending on the provider you purchased it from.

If the ohone is an AT&T phone, then it will be 850. If it is another provider, then probably 900.

So just to check, if I get a phone that doesn't have 2100, but has 850/900/1800/1900, it will work nationwide on 850 on xt, even in major cities?

as long as it has WCDA/HSPA 850 yes.

If it only has GSM 850 then no.
