Whether it's xtra or another ISP there is not differnce to what sync speeds you'll get, so your issue is the same. What model of router are you using?

As CoffeeBaron asks, what modem are you using, if you have been put on a newly installed cabinet then it will be an Ikanos chipset in the ISAM which does not play ball with some modems, in particular Linksys, but others are effected also.

It is a linksys AG310

I just called telecom faults 90 mins ago and they got me to reboot the modem.
I did and then it wouldn't authenticate.
ADSL is up at 17800 fine but cannot connect to PPPoA server.
They got me to plug in the new thomson one I had here they sent me a while ago but that won't connect either. same errors.

I did notice though the thompson said it was connected at 18000/902
linksys says 17800/345

So everything is down and the earliest a tech can look at it is 7pm tommorrow friday.. sigh..
Hopefully its someone playing at the exchange and fixes whats broken.
Strange how it happened when i rebooted the modem though.

I am on a tstick right now. thank goodness I had that at least.

They also couldn't find me on the list of cabinets that had been done so it must of been today..

Your Linksys modem is the issue.

The thomson TG585v7 wouldn't connect either when we tried it with the xtra nz techs though, so they told me to leave the linksys AG310 plugged in.

I also have Linksys AG310 and was recently cabinetized. Upload speeds dropped to as low as 200 kbps on ADSL2+. Xnet tells me that the cabinet has Broadcom chipsets and my modem is the problem. Telecom wholesale tell me the cabinet is the problem and a firmware update to the cabinet in January will fix the problem.

Numerous port changes over the last few weeks have seen my uploads vary from 200 to 576 kbps. Previously my uploads were 670 kbps on ADSL (not ADSL2+). New cabinet is 600 meters away.

David.

Woke up this morning rebooted the linksys router and it was all working again.
Still only at 17500/ 375 though.
The Thomson router says 18000/960 when its on there up so I might put that on there until they do those cabinet firmware upgrades mentioned above.
Looks like the linksys is the problem though..
