They are identical phones except one is GSM/GPRS/EDGE and one is CDMA 1X. Operators can lock down or alter some settings.
Lots of download stuff mentions the GSM version and not CDMA version, in general, if its a WAP download, it should work on both, though some operators (case in point: TNZ), stop you from saving some content via WAP, so that you have to buy it through the operators own portal (at inflated prices).
