I'm on Total Home Starter 1GB plan with Telecom. Pretty close to reaching the data cap. Is it possible to pay Telecom to get some more data blocks, for this month only? Not looking to change plans..

I know it's very easy with ISP's in Australia (not that you'd need it with their $50 for 150Gb p/m plans), however with Telecom I cannot see any options on their website to get any data blocks.

Thanks!

Nah they dont do that, except on the 40gb plan where you pay $2 per extra GB

the option is to change plans.
you can change plans once per month, so you can change this month, use the extra data, then next month change back again. doesn't matter if you have a contract because the contract is just for the service, not the specific plan.

I would say just change plans you are not penalised or charged to do so, if you busted it this month then you are sure to next, 1Gig is not a lot in this day and age, just a 2-3 PC's keeping up todate will chew their way through that on their own.

We don't do blocks per se, but you could change to Total Home Starter 3gb for $10 this month, and then come back off of it in 30 days. Doesn't affect your contract or anything like that.

Thank you for prompt reply guys.

I am a little worried that once I switch away from the Starter plan, I won't be able to switch back to it. I only see Go, Explorer, Adventure, Pro plans on Telecom's website. Do you know if I will be able to go back to Starter plan?

Hi Starter is a total home package the others are here

http://www.telecom.co.nz/totalhome

I would presume you can, but the best advise is to ring Telecom and get the low down.

Extra data on the total home plans are optional extra's

I don't think there is any problem with adding one of the addon this month then removing it next month.

Telecom normally pro rata their all charges so if you add/remove something mid month it's only a partial charge not a full month charge.

I believe it's 1 free plan change (add/remove addons) per month.

Give them a ring though.

Extra data on Total Home? As in adding 10GB or something? First I've heard of it. Changing plan, yes, but adding extra data "bump packs"? no.

At the very bottom of the page you see the data bundle options, as mentioned you can go up a data plan for a month and back the next $10 will fix the problem.
