I'd be most grateful if someone in the know at Telecom could say whether the current 1GB prepay bonus data on the 512MB plan that's been running throughout November and December will run into January also? We're on holiday then, so need to know whether I can rely on that, and if not look at buying a VF datastick using their currrent 2GB/2month/$79 offer. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Your link doesn't mention the current PREPAY 1GB bonus that's been running Nov/Dec for existing users. Can we assume it will continue to January? Thanks.

Is this not the plan here?

"Double your Smartphone Extras
If you’re someone who uses data on your phone, as well as having your texts doubled you’ll get double the data for 12 months on a 240MB and 500MB Smartphone Extra options. That means if you pay for a 500MB Extra you’ll get a whopping 1GB of data each month for 12 months plus each Smartphone Extra includes a whopping 5000 texts each month also for 12 months.
Offer ends 31 January 2011."

Call me dumb if you like, but I think that applies to smartphone plans, not the very popular Prepay Mobile Broadband 500MB plan here:

http://www.telecom.co.nz/mobile/mobilebroadband/plansandpricing/prepaid

Although it doesn't say there, current and new users have been given a 1GB bonus on top of the 500MB allocated during November and December. I'm hoping that continues in January?

The offer expires on December 31st; data has a 30-day expiry, so if you bought in December, the data would run out in January Smile

Here's a link to the promo details, and the T&C's link:

Now I have to figure it all out again. So it used to be 10c per MB up to 300MB and then up to 500MB for free (or 1500 with the bonus). Now what? If it's not calendar months, then what date does it start on?

Just like a prepaid phone, it's all about the 'anniversary date', which in this instance would be when the data plan was activated/provisioned on the SIM.

Yeah, I'm all setup with 1.5GB for January's camping holiday. I suspected this deal would be extended based on what's been happening with competitors lately. Isn't competition great?
