I've been trying to figure out when my address will be cabinetised as router sync speeds are slow and attenuation is high (over 2km away from the exchange.)

According to the telecom wholesale availability tool, the cabinet at the end of my street (MOD/AK), which I can see from my window and is no more than 20m away, is due to be upgraded in June, but will not be servicing me. Can someone enlighten me as to whether this is an error on telecoms part or if Ive just lucked out, and people far further away from the cabinet are more worthy of being connected to it than I am?

Since I have 0 idea how to get the telecom map into a copyable image I'll just post my address and hope no crazies come lurking...

6 George Street, Kingsland, Auckland City <--- is what is recognised by the availability tool

Thankyou

You're already being fed from the exchange delivering ADSL2+, nothing will change.

Have you looked at obvious things such as house wiring that's the most common factor resulting in slower speeds?

I was under the impression that larger distances to the exchange equals higher line noise and therefore lower speeds, and connecting to a fibre fed cabinet would lower attenuation significantly resulting in higher speeds?
As for house wiring, I don't know much about how it should be set up so I haven't tried to alter it. However this will become irrelevant soon as i'm getting a new line with naked dsl as I don't really want to be leaching off landlords line.

If you are 2km or less from your exchange, you should be getting good ADSL2 speeds - I would expect around 10-13 Mbps download speeds. What is your speed like?

House wiring is still a very important issuem, even with Naked ADSL. If you have dodgy wiring or jackpoints in the house they'll cause issues, even if you don't have a phone plugged in.

As you can see, speeds are absolutely abysmal, could be router, could be splitter/home wiring... Either way I don't really want to mess around with it as its not my line and I've only been here for a few weeks, so would just be easier to get a new line in.
Note: We're defiantly not capped.

As for the house wiring, getting a new line with cat 5 from the copper pair directly to the router will solve any speed issues from dodgy house wiring, would it not?

Based on those stats I'd be pretty confident in saying you're suffering from high attenuation and slow speeds due to poor house wiring.

Well yes, however the line attenuation seems to fit the expected attenuation at the distance I am from the exchange in Poronui st. (about 2.2km)

Have you gone down the route of calling through and logging a fault with the helpdesk?  If not, and you believe there to be one, I would recommend it but I would be in agreement with what sbiddle has said based on the information you've given.

Once you've exhausted the faults process (if you haven't already and thats the way you want to go with this)

Flick me a line/account/fault ticket, might be able to try something a little different.

Ok, thanks guys, if the problem is still there once I've got my own line/wiring/router set up (which should be Wednesday)i'll log a fault and go through the necessary channels, just don't feel comfortable redoing wiring and stuff on a line that isn't mine.
But on to my original question, can anyone tell me if my address is going to be hooked up to a cabinet any time soon? Because according to the broadband availability tool we're not going to be put onto MOD/AK Cry

Isnt the T1.413 mode an early version of DSL before ADSL from the 80's / 90's and runs at 1.54mbits, still common for SLA connections in the USA?

Google search tells me its something to do with ADSL/DSL not ADSL2+, anyway I updated the firmware on the router and it now seems to be saying ADSL2+ for mode and giving 8500Kbps sync speed. Still not great speeds but better than before.

Your attenuation should only be about 30dB for ~2km from the exchange. -41 will deliver poor results and indicates a probable wiring issue.
