I, in fact our area (Flat Bush), had no internet for the last 2 days, looks like other ISPs are affected too, tried ringing the helpdesk the night before, on hold for hours, then tried again after shower, the freaking helpdesk was closed! How frustrating!

Tried again this morning, still no internet!

Are you referring to adsl being down or are you on telecom wholesale's fibre trial? Also the telecom broadband helpdesk is open 24/7

that's what I thought too that the helpdesk should be open 24/7, the message was saying “we are having a period of high call-ins, please wait, or if your issue is not urgent, please try again later”, so I took a shower then went back to the phone and dail again, the message was "you have reached outside of our operating hours, please try again tomorrow".

Well the first step is definitely logging a fault with the helpdesk, call straight through to the broadband helpdesk 0800 225598

I did log a fault last night, and they promised to ring me back once it's resolved, still no calls yet despite internet is back now.
