Hey everyone,

Sorry, I know these questions get posted here all the time but I've been trying to find a new XT phone for yonks and I just don't get it with the sony ericsson ones - I read someone saying here that any of them that end in in an "a" will work on XT, is that right? So the w705a will work? I've just been looking for a pink slider for ages, and it seems like this is the only one I can find that might work.

Thanks for your help, sorry I've gotten so confused :)

A quick search shows for 705a:

Networks
- HSDPA
- GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
- UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100
- UMTS/HSUPA 850/1900/2100

So yes with umts 850 is just fine on XT

Yes the a is for the 850mhz XT network.

So you can use 3g on XT network with those ending with an a(like my w995a).

Can also use on voda/2deg if ya get sick of XT but no rural 3g(900 mhz).
