Will the HTC Touch Pro2 work on the Telecom XT Network? I don't quite get why Telecom sell the phone when HTC say the following:

HSPA/WCDMA:

  • Europe/Asia: 900/2100 MHz

  • Up to 2 Mbps up-link and 7.2 Mbps down-link speeds

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE:

  • Europe/Asia: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

No, that version of the phone won't on XT. However, there is a 850Mhz UMTS version of the phone that works on XT. Make sure you get that version.

The Australian HTC website state the following:

HSPA/WCDMA:

  • Australia: 850/2100 MHz (for Telstra)
Australia: 900/2100 MHz (for Open Channel)

so I have to get the Telstra version of the phone. Strange that HTC haven't updated their website.
