this will have zero effect on average kiwi if Telecom finds a capable replacement.... (In my not so humble opinion of course...)

odd timing for an unrelated-to-regulation step down though... (or a good time to do something you have wanted to do for a long time)

First, as pointed out, he's retiring on his own accord. Second, your comment about having a woman running the company shows a lot of prejudice.
