I was in at telecom yesterday looking for a new cell phone. They told me some new phones are due out in 3 weeks. Anyone know what the the phones are? Thanks

It's unlikely you'll see a flood of new phones, telecom generally just release a new model or two each month without too much fuss.

On the smartphone front there are a whole lot of LG/Samsung/ZTE/Sony android phones that are due to hit the market during Q1 and Q2 of 2011 but NZ generally seems to get these devices much later than other countries.

What sort of features are you after and how much are you prepared to pay?

The thing is, there is always new phones coming out in three weeks. You can wait 3 weeks, and then there will be more coming in 3 weeks. and 3 weeks after that, etc, etc. Buy something thats available. Or research what phone you want that's not available here, and enquire about when that particular phone may be available.

@johnR. I hear you're bringing back out the Motorola 4800 and 8500 with your next network upgrade.

Apple better have something magical lined up for the iPhone 5 after this baby hits the shelves.

Imagine the iPhone battery life with the 4800's huge gel cell battery! It'd probably get a month between charges!
