Hey all.

I was going to get a replacement Nokia 6265 but the dealer told me (Telecom Queen St) they were currently out of stock and didnt know how long it will be. Poss a few weeks to a few months??

Does anyone know about the situation of this? I would understand if they were sold out because they are awsme phones!! But how how will it before they come in? Im using my old 6225 at the moment. Feels so old school. But hey it does the job! I guess they dont make them how they use to.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thankz in advance

Dukes Arcade here in Wellington has a sign next to their display 6265 saying ***Currently Unavalible***

Ok i found out that they are not out of stock. But are having software updates or something along those lines.

Not sure of an exact date of when they will be available

Oh a software update? I wonder if it will make the phone less sluggish?

Been waiting for for an update for quite a while now

Yeah, i didnt find it too slugish. Although it had its times. I just kept heaps of the phones memory free and chucked most stuff on my MiniSD. I think this helped.

They do have moments tho. Nothing that a quick off and on wont fix.

My under standing is its nothing to-do with a software update (be unavailable that is) so don’t get too excited. At this point I will not go into the reason(s) for it being withdrawn from sale. In saying that, a new version of the software may be released by the time the phone returns to the shelf, shortly.

Dealers are taking Rain Checks.

Cheers

I dont think anyone would mind if you went into the reasons, im just hoping its not something majorly wrong with the phone. Although i havent noticed any problems so far, i dread a repeat of my 6255.

Yeah sorry i may have lead people astray by saying "Software updates" (Was just quoting what the telecom dude told me!) but another telecom dealer told me some people were having a small range of probs - not just with software. I never came across any really apart from the MP3 player sorta freezing if i played it to long or getting that "GPS Failure" message once in a while.

No stress not your fault, information always gets distorted in a large organization, bit like the game "Chinese Whispers"

If I get a stock update, I'll let you know, or better still I could try and hold one for you *Jono* thats if you havent already had a rain check taken by the Queens Street Dealer Store?

Cheers
