Is anyone else experiencing issues loading websites on Telecom Xtra Adsl today? Since this morning we've been unable to load 99% of sites that we try including NZ and International (GZ is one of the few that does).

Our Thomson router has been on a slow decline over the last few months so we went out and purchased a Belkin F7D2401 Modem/Router (on special, limited choice around atm). This is experiencing the same issues as well. After doing all the basic checks (isolation/restarts/reset to defaults/multiple computers/wireless&wired etc).

I phoned Telecom and got an automated message saying they "are currently experiencing issues with some people being unable to access websites, we are working to resolve them" followed by "our operators cannot offer any more help or information".

DNS requests are getting a response, and occasionally we can load the page title or even part of the page, than it all goes pear shaped. Tracert's appear to be alright as well. Could this be another wonderful Cache related issued?

Also (may as well hijack my own thread):

Are these ADSL stats acceptable (Attenuation especially)?

Type Interleave Path
Downstream Upstream
Data rate(Kbps) 13148 945
Noise Margin 12 15
Output power(dBm) 16 7
Attenuation(dB) 122 186

Anyone else used a Belkin F7D2401 and had issues getting Wifi connections to work? It only connects as Local on our Vista laptop, won't allow interweb or even router access.

Ok so after I logged a fault with Telecom and on here the issue seems to have resolved with internet access. Now I just need to fix an issue with a Vista computer only getting "Local Only" access via Wireless. Any ideas?

Right the piece of **** useless Belkin F7D2401 router has been returned to the store. According to the girl who served me the wireless issues I've experienced with it (inc. issues with Xbox Live) are the reason why most of these routers get returned. Online evidence shows that it is a well documented fault with the router not working with Xbox 360's. Belkin support refused the deviate from the script and wouldn't tell me where to acquire older firmware where the issue is not evident. Belkin claims there is no issue with Xbox's and refused to log a fault. Therefore, I am joining the never-again-Belkin crew.

In a positive spin I picked up a TP-Link TD-W8960N today for less than the Belkin, and five minutes later everything was working perfectly. I agree with all the comments I've read on here about TP-Link's they are exceptional products.

As for Telecom loading issues, I have not seen any speed issues since upgrading from the Thomson so I'm willing to put the blame on that (infact speed is x3 faster than it used to be).

Long, long ago.
