Unfortunately the www.telecom.co.nz website is unavailable due to maintenance

7:20 on a Monday night doesn't seem a likely time to schedule maintenance.

Hopefully they're redesigning it.

I asked Telecom on Twitter at the end of 2009 about when they were going to look at centering the pages instead of having them pushed to the left of the screen which looks a bit silly on a big monitor. The reply was they were working on testing some formats and that it was coming. Obviously it hasn't been done yet!

I wouldn't count on it.

I know nothing about Telecom's internal processes so I'm just tackling this logically. If you were redesigning a site then you'd keep the existing one online while developing the new one, then bring the new one alongside in parallel (eg. test.telecom.co.nz). Once you're sure that it's working, swap www.telecom.co.nz to point to the new site. No downtime required.

I think in this case there's probably an actual unexpected fault.

It would be nice if Telecom didn't record your usage for the duration the website has been down - it's not exactly like you can check it online :(
