I have a problem with my cordless phone at home. This is an odd issue that I am hoping someone her might be able to help with.

-----------------------------------

Issue:
The issue is that I cannot make outgoing calls with my Panasonic cordless phone. When I press the green button to make a call I can hear a dial tone but after I have pressed the last button of the number I am calling I get 4 quick beeps then a pause and then 4 quick beeps and a pause and so on.

This is the odd bit, up until a couple of days ago we could make calls to the following, 120 (telecom faults), my wife's cell number and the 0800 number for energy smart. My wife has just informed my that those are now not working.

Its as if the numbers are not being recognised buy the number recognition thing.

-----------------------------------

Troubleshooting:

I have tried including the area codes on numbers but no luck.

I use a plugged in a wired phone then I can make outgoing calls.

I have tested the cordless at another address and the phone worked fine.

I have tried unplugging the broadband connection and the mysky connection and just have the cordless plugged in and it is still not working.

I have tried turning off the sky box but no joy.

-------------------------

Panasonic suggested trying the phone at a different location so we did.

Telecom said that the line was ok but will no doubt need them to help fix the issue.

I would appreciate any help with this issue

Thanks

I came across this once before. I think it has to do with a setting in the panasonic phone that stores an area code.

Go to phone menu > base unit set-up > area code, then delete any area codes in that menu

I did try that but I was unable to find any area codes that had been entered, also that are no numbers in the barred numbers list.

Can you reset the phone to factory defaults and try again?

Was this handset purchased in New Zealand or imported?

It was bought in NZ at farmers. I have had a look for factory default reset but there are no options for this. I have also looked in the manual for this.

Was wondering of a wireless mouse might interfere with it somehow.
