Anyone having issues with their internet this evening on the North Shore?

All was fine this afternoon, then around 5:30ish, pages won't load, internet connection drops.

Spoke to Telecom who put me through to the people that check your lines for faults, but it just rang and rang and rang and rang.  Was on hold for 17 mins and no one answered.

Managed to load Geekzone, but do not know how long my internet is going to be stable.

We also have had static on our phone line and when calling some numbers that we know have people on the other end, we just get the beep beep be beep be beep tones...

Very confusing.  But I couldn't stay on hold any longer as I am cooking dinner.

Did the same thing not happen when you were on Vodafone and you got static?

Having issues here in Auckland with Telecom Broadband. Around 4PM the line just dropped (phone still works). No DSL no PPP. Tried resetting modem, different jackpoints, etc and Telecom aren't sure what the issue is.

We've had the line from the pole completely replaced since been with Vodafone.  Before it was all squiggly to the house, like a pigs tail and now it is straight. And haven't had the same issues with Telecom that we had with VF.

The phone and Internet came right on it's own by 7:30pm last night and things were back to normal.

So I am not sure if some work was been done in the area to affect our line.

But it just seemed odd that nobody answered the phone when we were put through to the line checking people and I had to give up to finish cooking dinner and eat it.

Has yours come right on it's own like ours did after 7:30pmish?

Hey I've been experiencing similar problem for the past two weeks. I'm on North Shore as well (Glenfield). In the past two weeks, I got regular disconnects usually between 5pm~6pm timeframe, but it can certainly happen at other times. It becomes normal again after a while.

The strange thing is that the signal to noise ratio is quite acceptable at 12dB, yet it disconnects usually in the middle of some continuous data transfer. Downloading a large file would normally trigger it, however, Skype sometimes does as well. It's extremely annoying when I'm trying to have a Skype conversation when it starts to happen. I ended up using my 3G data instead.

Currently, I'm trying to isolate the problem, but it may well be a common issue for some customers?

Well, mine fixed its self.  Haven't noticed a problem since.

I still find it bizarre that the faults team she put me through didn't answer.  So I am thinking there was a problem the other day and they were just overwhelmed with calls.
