Hi - I just installed a CK-7W car kit for use with a Telecom Apache - connects great, but unfortunately the volume is very very low, even when the volume is turned up to max with the car kit remote control.

Unfortunately it's unsuable in it's current state as i can barely hear it when driving.

Anyone have any ideas how to increase the volume? or any other suggestions?

I am guessing the volume is up on your Apache? Otherwise why don’t you ask the place who installed the car kit?

Odd. I have had the same setup and it was awesome with heaps of volume.
Checked all volumes on the Apache?

Hi - thanks for the replies - I'm thrilled to hear that it should work!

It works perfectly apart from the volume - at the moment I have to turn the volume up to full using the car kit remote -however this results in very quiet phone calls but immensely loud incoming rings from the car kit! I nearly died when the first call came through... and then could barely hear the call!

Yes, i've turned the volume up on the apache using the side slider - any other way I can turn the volume up?

Any other suggestions?

I installed the car kit myself, using the simple option of positive 12+ volts and ground, i didn't connect the ignition wire - I might try this just to be sure.

Any other thoughts?

mmmm connect all wires (ignition can be connected to your main power, but ideally find the wire that powers your stereo or something.

Today screen, top row, find the volume control, tap it, there should be two sliders. Try adjusting those - one may be down?

Thanks - connected the 3rd wire. no difference. Played repeatedly with the volume slider and icon on the Apache, but changing the pocket pc volume has no effect on the Car Kit volume. (Changing the volume on the Carkit remote control does work, i just can't get the volume loud enough)

Do you still have this car kit?

Where are you based? (if in Christchurch it would be great to do a volume comparison)

You haven't got any special software installed or ROM updates that might be making a difference?

Oh one more detail - i also have a Nokia 2280 connected to this carkit via a popport connection. This works great - and you can increase the volume using the volume buttons on the phone. So this indicates that the car kit is working ok at a good volume... just the bluetooth volume is suffering. (I remove the Nokia 2280 from it's cradle prior to starting the bluetooth link, otherwise bluetooth won't activiate.)

Hi - just a follow up - i finally decided to do a hard reset on my apache, and the bluetooth volume is now working brilliantly.

A while ago i installed a bluetooth keyboard on my apache - i wonder if this messed up the bluetooth settings somehow?

Do any of you guys have issues with the having to enter in the access code for the blue tooth pairing all the time? I have a customer having this prob. I would imagine that there is a simple check box or something he can select so he would only have to do this the first time

For most devices it should just be '0000' or '1234' with the 1st being the most common. I dont usually have any trouble. What devices are you referring to?

Great!! Its working. CK&w and apache is a nice pair eh. very unobtrusive. shame about the pop port disabling BT, i would have liked to have had both going....

I dont have this setup anymore, it all belonged to my last job.

Thanks - this morning i'm going to experiment with putting a switch on the +ve lead of the pop-port cable. My thinking is that flicking the switch should disable the pop-port on demand, while still leaving the phone in its cradle.

This way, I can use two phones - My apache via bluetooth, and my nokia 2280 via pop-port, selecting each by flicking the switch.

End results = a whole lot more free minutes calling a month by combining two cheap plans over two phones.

Also, just trialing Microsoft Voice Command on the Apache - brilliant - just press the button, say the name from your contacts list (on Apache) and it will dial it for you. Similarily, by putting voice tags on the Nokia 2280, you can voice dial as well.

Very nice.

Apache and CK-7W. The problem is that everytime he gets into his car, he has to enter the code. Any idea's? Don't have an Apache to play with instore at the mo, that's all.
