A while back everyone was putting the code [code removed] into nokia 2280 phones to enable and disable the texting on it. I was bored so decided to see if it would work on my phone. I typed it in, and before pressing anything my phone turned off. I turned it on and it was fine for a day. Then it happened. The phone won't turn on, and when it does it goes into it and turns right back off. I could get in and work it for a little while, 5-10mins and then it would turn off. But now it wont let me do anything at all. It turns on by itself, goes into the scroll list and scrolls throught "switch off" and all the profiles all by itself! It then turns off and turns back on. What is going on! Is it because of the code or what!? It just turned on again. What the hell! Please help, it would be much appreciated, as the phone is no longer under warrenty and i do not have the receipt.

[Moderator edit (MF): removed code as per forum usage guidelines]

You dont have to press anything after typing the code in, thats what the last # does.
Knowing the damage that the code, why would even try putting it in?

You could pay to get it sent away and the firmware reflashed, which i see as your only option.

This should be a warning to everyone foolish enough to start playing with programming codes on phones.

I think it’s merely a coincidence, Take it into your local TC dealer for servicing.

P.s. I love that code!

Can almost guarantee it's a coincidence...

BTW... people who enter those codes (or any others) and don't know what they're doing are really annoying...

At least note down what your doing, and use a phone you don't care about...
