They use to be cutting edge,  Excellent user friendly phones.

the cheaper-end new Nokia phones (tele and Voda)
Have horrid low-res CSTN screens (the real grainy dim ones you can only see from angle)
Or low-resolution screens if they are larger
horribly small crammed or otherwise cheap feeling keys
have very soft plastic which cracks
screen protecting plastic is usally easily scratched low-grade plastic
battery life is often pathetic
Have poorly set out menu's
the phones which have anything decent,,,, are just so SLOW to navigate.
Their flips are chunky, Bulky, bad, space wasting designs!
half their phones are just retooled casings over old phones
Their CDMA offering look like the GSM versions, but are often cut back paperweights (6225 comes to mind)

I must admit however, nokia are looking much better recently,,, at least with high end devices like the Voda3G ones and the latest Tele027 ones are resonably good (the 6265 is a lovely phone with bigish keys, fantastic camera and a gourgeous screen aside the slow menu nav)

but what happened to the last 3 years!!!!!    some heaps of wasted resources have came from them souring their name. WHAT were they thinking!

I like the 6680 myself... seems to do everything one can reasonably expect of a handheld device without being big and clunky like the Windows Mobile ones.

Well it did start off by talking about telecom nokias and vodafone nokias, so could go in either. Where do you propose it should be?

Oh, was it Telecom Nokias?

Anyway, I guess the Symbian area would be the place?

We need amd have needed for a while a "general mobile" thread, If I double post the mods delete it. ARGH

More probably aimed at the bad Telecom Nokia models, Things like the 2280, 2112/8, 6225, 6385, 6585 and other useless, overpriced outdated Nokia models, Also remember the Symbian devices are really universal, so even though tooled by Nokia are good phones with the good screens when their mainstay models are sh_te!

Remember while the 2280 is a pile of old news now, it's basically a 6310 in an uglyier casing with terrible txt menu's and horrible battery life. The Vodafone lookaline the 6225 hald HALF the features of the GSM sibling at the same price point!

And no they aren't $50 dollar now, they still seem to be relasing old models in a new case with different firmwares at top market dollar on either network, though like I say, there seems to be an improvement of late and I may even consider Nokia again for my next phone purchase.

this is what i think the mobiles lag behide because of there graphics the the more things they have to do the more they have to process. i belive it's the same sort of things as computers. and the phones 3 years ago did have all these graphics like they do today i notest that my nokia 3315 goes farster then my nokia 6020 who agree's with me?

I do believe he means lag in the sense that they are behind the game in progress terms. But yes I've noticed my 6265 does lag a lot, but a good reset does the trick.
