It was 2 years ago when we eagerly awaited the launch of Telecom’s XT mobile network offering a pure 3g experience and speeds unseen in NZ.
As info on pricing was released many commented here on geekzone that they were disappointed with the so called ‘one rate’ options which essentially made you pay a very high ‘network access’ fee with a few free minutes but pay extra for texts and data.
On Friday 29th May 2009 early adopters rocked into telecom stores nationwide and signed up to 2 year plans to get onto the network.
It hasn’t all been plain sailing of course XT’s network failures, the launch of 2 degrees and Vodafone’s 3G upgrade have all taken the gloss off telecom’s new network.
If you signed up on day one you’re near enough to 23 months through your 24 month contract and are no doubt considering the options for your mobile future.
Telecom has finally seen the light and ditched the one rate pricing in favour of deals which offer calls, text and data in a bundle but the question is ‘is it enough to keep you with telecom?’
So what are you going to do? Have telecom done enough to keep you? Are you happy with the network? Are you looking at other options with other networks?
