Is anyone else experiencing connection problems?

My telecom broadband connection has been out since 9 May 2011. I have called the support line with them telling me that every thing is fine on there end. While going through the process with the support guy he mentioned that one of there tests indicated that my adsl modem had preveously been connected to vodafone which does not make any sense sine the modem I am using is the D-link modem/router that telecom sent when I signed up with them, and we have always had our phone line and internet provided by telecom.

Also the router log file says that the pap authentication failed. so I am assuming that this is a problem on telecoms side.

So what is your PAP username configured on your modem? If you're with Telecom you need to make sure it's configured with a username ending in @xtra.co.nz or @xtrabb.co.nz (there's a few other realms too that work)

The password won't matter so long as you have a valid username realm.

The User name and password have been set as follows:

User Name: user@xtrabb.co.nz
Password: abc123

I have also tried using the user name (ends with @xtra.co.nz) and the password that works for checking my broadband usage.

The problem has been fixed, after the technician made some changes at the road side box outside my house.
