So is there any further update on if/when this package will be available for the thousands of Apaches that are out in the marketplace?  Looks like Sprint have recently released an update for the 6700, but I imagine installing that will bugger up my Apache?

The MSFP is available to TNZ Apache, but not on the official website yet. There's a discussion about this already: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=18&TopicId=7729

I have been using the AKU2 during the Beta stage and it works well.
