Without getting onto who was right in this story one thing that wasn't actually mentioned was the fact that a user doesn't own their phone number, it's simply allocated to them by a network. Before Telecom introduced word numbers into NZ there were customers who picked their own 0800 numbers using the letters and then Telecom tried to shaft them because they could get big $$ for those numbers.

I have two similar, one much better and one very similar and i'd never part with them nor have I ever been offered, I think they have seen enough $$ business sent through them over the years and "other" reasons ;-)

Funny the only ones whom ever dicked me around with numbers were Vodafone, I had prepaid number 021 1666333 and they took it off me, one day my phone never went again and I phoned it a month later and got some "lady"

I seem to be having a similar problem right now with my prepay so I hell hope they aint done the same thing to my new number!

And I went to "switch" numbers to Vodafone matching my Telecom number, I was told they could not allocate it and it was "gold", within two weeks another personal "customer" had it hooked up and it was in use.

they make a good point... but Fair Go is such an annoying program... I just want to shake half the complainants and tell them to wise up...

I took a call from Kevin a couple weeks ago (at my place of employment). Seemed like a nice enough guy

yeah... Fair Go managed to get an entire house out of State insurance for my parents when I was a kid... nice guy, and I used to work with Natalie Crook at Zm... she was extremely cool (though next to Marcus Lush post rehab, Margaret Thatcher would seem like a honey)... it's not the people that annoy me, is the fact that the complaintents geneally destroy my faith in evolution...

Totally agree. I'm my previous job in a senior position in a call centre for an insurance underwriter, I took calls almost daily from people who were always threatening to go to fair go over the silliest of things. I doubt any of them ever actually tried, but if they did they were probably quickly made aware of the fact that they were the ones in the wrong.

Now, now... That's is a "re-enactment", and we don't really know how the first call went, do we? We should be fair to both sides, and we don't know the whole story. Somehow I feel something is missing in this whole thing.
