For users of the Motorola Milestone:

Has anyone been experiencing strange coverage patterns? I was in Kawakawa Bay and had no coverage (I know there is a cell site there). Recently, some parts of Auckland like Mt Albert, I have poor to no coverage at all.

I suspect it is the technical specifications of the phone i.e. it is the non-US version (900/2100). Could they have sold this version to customers on XT? Since there is limited 2100 coverage in the Telecom XT network.

Any had issues such as this? This phone was bought from Telecom shop on Queen St.

Milestones purchased form Telecom are 850/2100 handsets.

I've been using a milestone for the past couple of months in areas with and without 2100 with no issues.

Can you confirm other people on XT are or are not having coverage isseus where you are?

This will rule in or out the handset, as it may be a tower problem

We don't sell any phones without the UMTS 850 band.  Try a factory reset, (make sure you have a backup.)  If you continue to have problems take it to the store to have it checked out.

check your network settings too.

I have a milestone and can easily drive from Napier to Wellington without any loss of coverage. Except a small patch around the rimutaka's and Mt Bruce near masterton.

Best phone i have ever had for coverage.
